On Monday 5 October 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade reported on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel’s working visit to the Principality of Andorra on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 October 2026.
According to the ministry, Minister Bettel held meetings with Head of Government Xavier Espot Zamora and Minister for Foreign Affairs Imma Tor Faus. The discussions focused on the excellent bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Andorra, as well as prospects for deepening them, particularly in the economic, cultural and higher education fields.
The two sides also discussed the association agreement between Andorra and the European Union (EU), which would bring Andorra closer to the European family.
The discussions also covered current international affairs, with Luxembourg and Andorra sharing a common commitment to multilateralism, international law, and the defence and promotion of democratic values.
Established in 1995, diplomatic relations between Luxembourg and Andorra are celebrating their 31st anniversary this year.
