Luxembourg’s Minister of Home Affairs, Léon Gloden, will take part on Friday 5 September 2025 in Saarbrücken in the memorial service for police officer Simon Bohr, who was killed in the line of duty in Völklingen, Germany.

By his presence, Minister Gloden conveys the deep sympathy of the Luxembourg Government and the people of Luxembourg for this tragic loss. “The violent death of Simon Bohr deeply affects me. It is an attack on our society and our values. And it reminds us of how dangerous the task is for police officers, who work every day to ensure our safety. My thoughts are with the family, colleagues and all relatives of the deceased,” Minister Gloden stated ahead of the memorial service.

The Luxembourg Ministry of Home Affairs added that his participation underscores Luxembourg’s close ties and solidarity with the German security forces, particularly in the Greater Region
