On Monday 26 May 2025, the 20th edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe will officially open in Andorra la Vella with a ceremony at the National Stadium, featuring the Team Lëtzebuerg delegation comprising 164 athletes set to compete across sixteen sports.
The sporting event is set to take place from Tuesday 27 to Saturday 31 May 2025, across various venues in Andorra, and will feature competitions in nineteen disciplines, including 3x3 basketball, artistic swimming, athletics, basketball, beach volleyball, mountain bike and road cycling, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, judo, karate, rugby 7s, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball, among others.
The sport with the highest representation from Team Lëtzebuerg at the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe is athletics, with a total of 34 athletes participating.
Games of the Small States of Europe has brought together around 1,650 participants - including athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers - from nine European microstates: Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro and San Marino.
During past editions of the Games of the Small States of Europe, Luxembourg has demonstrated strong performances, topping the medal table in both 2013 and 2017. As of 2021, Luxembourg ranked third in the all-time medal standings with a total of 1,163 medals, behind only Iceland (1,259) and Cyprus (1,283).
