Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, participated in the Milken Institute's annual conference in Los Angeles, USA from Sunday 4 to Monday 5 May 2025. 

In a press release, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade stated that the 28th edition of the Milken Institute Global Conference, with the theme “Toward a Flourishing Future”, brought together political leaders, representatives of international organisations and numerous private sector stakeholders to discuss major contemporary challenges, particularly the impact of geopolitical tensions, climate change, new technologies and artificial intelligence on interconnected societies and economies.

The ministry added that Minister Bettel participated in several discussion panels. During the session entitled "Investing in Ukraine's Future," he highlighted the resilience of Ukrainians and the importance of continuing to support the country. Regarding Ukraine's reconstruction, he emphasised the need to implement joint projects with Ukrainians, enabling the country to rebuild and develop its economy.

Minister Bettel also took part in the "Leaders in Tech" panel, dedicated to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, in which he emphasised the importance of ensuring access to technology for all.

Furthermore, the ministry reported that Minister Bettel met with key players from the economic and political worlds.
