On Tuesday 25 February 2025, Luxembourg’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, Martine Hansen, visited the International Agricultural Show in Paris.
As reported by Luxembourg’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, the theme "Land of Enthusiasts" of the 61st edition of the International Agricultural Show highlights both innovation and tradition. The ministry added that innovation is “a topic particularly close to the heart” of Minister Hansen. She focused on technological innovations, agri-tech, bio-economy and sustainable practices shaping the future and modernisation of agriculture. During her visit, the minister engaged with a number of French producers and farmers to gain insight into the challenges they face, the ministry said.
Minister Hansen also met with her French counterpart, Annie Genevard, Minister for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, to discuss the direction of European agricultural policy, particularly in light of the recent vision on agriculture and food presented by the new Commissioner, Christophe Hansen.
The ministry said the two ministers share a common focus on ensuring food sovereignty and developing a strategy for generational renewal within the agricultural sector.
Moreover, as a former director of the Luxembourg Technical Agricultural School (LTA), Minister Hansen visited the delegation of Luxembourgish students from the LTA participating in the Animal Judging Competitions at the International Agricultural Show.
