On Friday 3 January 2025, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
Luxembourg's Ministry of State confirmed that the two leaders had an exchange of views on the main issues of international and European news in what was the first meeting of the leaders of the two neighbouring countries of the new year.
PM Frieden posted on social media: "Starting the year with a meeting among friends in Paris, to discuss current European challenges. Thank you for an excellent exchange Emmanuel Macron."
