The Luxembourg Philharmonic has announced that it will embark on a tour of Spain next month.

The orchestra is set to perform at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on Monday 4 November, at the Palau de la Música in Valencia on Tuesday 5 November and at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November 2024.

The performances will feature Roman melodies by Respighi, fairy tales by Ravel, organ music by Poulenc, jazz rhythms by Gershwin and symphonic music by Prokofiev.

The trip marks the last tour for Gustavo Gimeno as music director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic. Mr Gimeno, a Spanish native, has been with the orchestra since 2015 and will be leaving at the end of the current season.

The orchestra has also announced dates for performances in Luxembourg following its Spanish tour. It will perform at the Centre des Arts Pluriel Ettelbruck (CAPE) in the company of Benjamin Kruithof on Thursday 14 November 2024. This will be followed by three performances of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte on Friday 6, Sunday 8 and Tuesday 10 December 2024 at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg.
