Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, together with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, Xavier Bettel, will travel to New York in the United States, from Sunday 22 to Saturday 28 September 2024, for the Summit of the Future and the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
As reported by Luxembourg's Ministry of State and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Prince Guillaume, Prime Minister Frieden and Minister Bettel will participate in a reception at the Permanent Mission of Luxembourg to meet the Luxembourgish community based in New York.
The 79th session of the UNGA will then be an opportunity for Luc Frieden and Xavier Bettel to take part in several high-level meetings. The Prime Minister will speak at the plenary session of the Summit of the Future, while Minister Bettel will deliver a speech at the general debate of the General Assembly, among other things.
The government members will also have an opportunity to conduct several bilateral interviews with their respective counterparts.
