The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) have reported that one of its search dogs recently helped track down a missing person in Belgium.

The search took place on the other side of the Belgian border, near Tontelange, on Tuesday 30 July 2024.

Due to the high temperatures, the local authorities decided to quickly launch the first searches and to ask for assistance from their Luxembourg colleagues, including the canine group (GCYN) of the CGDIS.

In collaboration with the Belgian and Luxembourg police and the canine unit of the Luxembourg Red Cross, the missing person was found alive, shortly after 20:00, thanks to the efforts of a CGDIS search dog.
