Luxembourg’s flight company, Luxair, has announced it is taking proactive measures to assist passengers affected by the closure of the Palma de Mallorca airport due to severe weather conditions.
A storm hit Palma de Mallorca on Tuesday 11 June 2024, leading to the temporary closure of the airport and disrupting travel plans for numerous passengers, Luxair noted. Among them, 120 passengers were anticipated to board a Luxair-bound flight for Luxembourg. Luxair representatives in Palma de Mallorca confirmed they are actively working to provide accommodation for the affected passengers for an overnight stay.
If the situation improves, Luxair announced it intends to operate two flights on Wednesday 12 June 2024, aiming to bring the impacted passengers back to Luxembourg.
