EDF, the operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant in France, has reported that Reactor 2 was reconnected to the electricity network on Friday 13 October 2023.
On Friday, the teams at the power plant reconnected Reactor 2 to the electrical grid and confirmed it is in operation again and supplying the electricity network.
Reactor 2 had been shut down on Thursday 5 October 2023 to allow the team to carry out various interventions on a water supply system situated in the engine room (non-nuclear part).
EDF confirmed that Reactor 4 is also in operation. Reactors 1 and 3, however, have been undergoing maintenance work since 30 September and 7 October, respectively.
