The operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant, EDF, has reported that a reactor was taken offline on Tuesday 19 September 2023 for various checks and interventions.
EDF announced in a press release that Reactor 2 was disconnected from the electricity network in order to allow the teams to carry out various checks and interventions on a water supply system located in the engine room, in the non-nuclear part of the facility.
Reactors 1, 3 and 4 remained operational and continued to supply the electricity network.
