On Wednesday 15 June 2022, François Bausch, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Mobility and Public Works paid a working visit to the United Kingdom (UK).

Minister Bausch first met with Robert Courts, the British Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Security, for an interview in London. The former expressed his gratitude for the good collaborations between the two countries in the field of aviation after Brexit.

The two ministers had the opportunity to discuss sustainable aviation fuel and decarbonisation in the aviation sector. In this context, they reaffirmed the importance of investing in the production of sustainable aviation fuel based on renewable energy in order to comply with the European Commission's "Fit for 55" directives.

Similarly, during their meeting, Minister Courts showed an interest in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in this area.

Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister also took the opportunity of his stay in London to attend the MOVE 2022 conference, which took place from 15 to 16 June 2022. This is an event dedicated to mobility where disruptive technologies and innovation are the engine of change. The conference was a key opportunity for many representatives, such as transport operators, technology companies, fleets and companies in the energy sector to discuss the main issues of mobility.

Minister Bausch gave a presentation about free public transport in Luxembourg and its effects on the community and the economy. Similarly, the event was an opportunity to present Luxembourg's "Modu 2.0" strategy as well as the National Mobility Plan 2035.
