On Tuesday 20 April 2021, Luxembourg and Cuba signed an air agreement providing for mutual traffic rights between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Luxembourg's Minister of Mobility and Public Works, François Bausch, and the Cuban Ambassador to Luxembourg, Norma Goicochea Estenoz.

Luxembourg and Cuba maintain excellent bilateral relations. The year 2022 will mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The aviation agreement will provide a regulatory framework for the future development of economic relations in particular and testifies to the determination of the two countries to create an environment favourable to trade and businesses.

Minister François Bausch welcomed the signing of this agreement, which illustrates the will of Luxembourg and Cuba to strengthen their bilateral relations in general and their economic and trade relations in particular.
