Luxembourg Prime Minister, Minister of State Xavier Bettel will undertake an official visit to Mexico City from 7-9 April 2019, during which time he will receive the title of "honorary citizen".
During this trip, the Prime Minister will meet with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, namely to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, as well as major international political issues.
Xavier Bettel will similarly meet with the mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. At a ceremony, the Luxembourg Prime Minister will be named "honorary citizen" of Mexico City. Subsequently, Prime Minister Manlio Fabio Beltrones Rivera will welcome Xavier Bettel to attend a formal session of the Senate at which the latter will deliver a speech.
