Luxembourg is set to have an umbrella stand as part of the next edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress, taking place from 19-21 November 2019 in Barcelona.

As an event for "Smart Cities" based on social inclusion and empowerment values, the Smart City Expo World Congress focuses on the sustainable economy, providing a unique and innovative meeting place for the sectors of smart cities. Sustainable development is a top priority at the show, especially with the "Towards Zero Waste" initiative, which aims to reduce waste and increase the efficient use of resources.

In 2018, this international trade fair welcomed more than 840 exhibitors and some 21,000 trade visitors from 146 countries. This year, throughout the three days, the event will address the themes of digital transformation, urban environment, mobility, governance and financing as well as inclusive and sharing cities.

In the perspective of the implementation of the Third Industrial Revolution and the RIFKIN study based on the convergence of ICTs, energy and transport within smart grids, this show is an ideal business location to present innovative ideas in an international context. In order to support Luxembourg companies in this manner, the Chamber of Commerce is considering, for the first time, setting up a Luxembourg pavilion at the City Expo World Congress, subject to interest on behalf of the national companies concerned.

Interested parties may attend an information session on this stand on Friday 1 March 2019 from 10:30-12:00 on the premises of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (7, rue Alcide de Gasperi, L-2981 Luxembourg). Registration is via the following link: www.een-events.com/info-smartcity2019.
