The New World Theatre Club has announced its upcoming production of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (directed by Arron Lemon) which will take place from 13 - 16 June 2024.
Auditions are being held on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 February 2024 from 18:00 - 20:00 both days in Luxembourg city (precise venue to be confirmed).
The Importance of Being Earnest was first performed in 1895. It is a comedic play that satirizes the conventions and manners of Victorian society. Set in England during the late 19th century, the play follows the lives of two young men, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, who adopt fictional identities to escape social obligations. Jack invents a brother named Ernest, while Algernon creates an invalid friend named Bunbury. The plot unfolds with mistaken identities, clever wordplay, and humorous social commentary.

What will happen in audition?
Following a short warm up, participants will workshop selected scenes through improvisation. Recalls will require participants to workshop sections of text from the script.
All ages are welcome to audition to secure the best, most versatile cast.
