Details:

Kinepolis Luxembourg will be screening the documentary film "Lucian Freud: A Self Portrait" on 3 and 8 March 2020 at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

For the first time in its history, the Royal Academy of Arts in London, in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, is bringing together the self-portraits of British painter Lucian Freud. The exhibition will feature more than 50 paintings, prints and drawings in which this modern British artist turned his unshakeable gaze on himself.

Lucian Freud, one of the most famous painters of our time, is also one of the few artists of the 20th century to have portrayed himself with such constancy. His self-portraits, which cover nearly seven decades, provide a fascinating insight into his psyche and evolution as a painter, from his first portrait painted in 1939 to the final portrait 64 years later. Admired together, his portraits represent an exciting study of the dynamics of ageing and the process of self-representation.

This captivating exhibition creates a unique opportunity for Kinepolis' "Art au Cinema" to reveal the work of a master's life in an exhibition.
