Details:

The 22nd edition of the Duck Race, a traditional event organised by the Luxembourg Round Table under the high patronage of the City of Luxembourg, will take place on Saturday 29 April 2023 on the forecourt of the Abbaye de Neumünster (neimënster) under the slogan "Green event".

Entertainment for children and adults as well as catering will begin at noon and at 15:00, around 16,000 ducks will be launched into the Alzette river for this annual race.

This year, the proceeds of the day will be donated to the following non-profit organisations: "Nuevo Destino", a humanitarian association that acts in favour of Honduran families; "Stiftung Kinderchirurge", which supports specialised doctors performing complex surgeries on children and newborns born in medically underdeveloped countries; the "Manampy" association, whose aim is to encourage and support the training of young people from underprivileged backgrounds in Madagascar and thus contribute to improving their quality of life and that of their families.

People wishing to support these causes and participate in the charity lottery can sponsor one of the ducks, which are available for presale at the price of €5 (via https://duckrace.lu) or on the day of the event itself. All ducks have a number corresponding to a lottery ticket number. The “sponsors” of the winning ducks crossing the finish line first will receive one of several prizes offered by sponsors, such as trips, vouchers or dinners; this year's first prize is a Volkswagen Taigo car.

Entrance to the site will be via the main entrance to the Abbaye de Neumünster, with free on-site access (limited to 3,000 people). The event will take place from 12:00 to 18:00.
