Details: On 15 March 2013 at 19:00, and 16 March 2013 at 14:00, Luxembourg participants will join with activists around the world to promote V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls.

In 2013, one billion people will begin a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. On 14 February 2013, activists, writers, thinkers, celebrities, and women and men across the world particpated in actions in defiance to the injustices women suffer, demanding an end to violence against women in "One Billion Rising". The Rising Up Luxembourg flash mob was a kick off to V-Day Luxembourg 2013’s initiative to fight against violence.

Last year, V-Day Luxembourg 2012 had one performance of Eve Ensler’s play, The Vagina Monologues, with much demand for a second showing. This year the organisers will hold two showings of the play with music, food, drink and a round table discussion a part of the two day event.
