Details: An exhibition of works by the artists Yvonne O'Caoimh and Andrée Schummer is being organised between 4 and 19 October at the Vieille église of Roodt-sur-Syre at 8 rue d'Olingen; the exhibition includes paintings and works using glass.
Talking with The Luxembourg Chronicle, Yvonne O'Caoimh explained that she has started what she describes as a Barn Project in which she paints different barns throughout the Grand Duchy. So far she has painted barns from 14 villages and she is using this exhibition to sound out reaction from the public before she decides on whether to embark on painting more.
The exhibition is open on Fridays from 18:00 - 20:00, Saturdays from 15:00 - 18:00 and Sundays from 15:00 - 18:00. This is being preceded by a Vernissage on 3 October at 19:00, hosted by the municipality of Betzdorf.
About the artists
Yvonne Molony O'Caoimh is an Irish artist, living in Luxembourg for the last ten years. She studied at the National College of Art and Design Dublin and graduated in 1982. She is interested in painting and photography. Her first solo exhibition in Luxembourg The Blue Road' included paintings depicting the urban rural divide in Luxembourg. - 2008 photographic exhibition Gallerie Op Der Kap.

Andrée Schummer est une artiste luxembourgeoise qui travaille le verre depuis de nombreuses années. Elle utilise les techniques fusing et casting pour créer des objets, plats et sculptures, en verre. Elle a participé à de nombreuses expositions individuelles ou en groupe et a suivi dernièrement un cours de casting donné par l‘artiste anglaise Angela Jarman.
