The Carnival (Fuesent) season officially takes place between Candlemas (Liichtmëssdag) on 2 February and Ash Wednesday (Äschermëttwoch), which in 2025 falls on 5 March. In the Christian tradition, Carnival officially comes to an end on Mardi Gras, Tuesday 4 March 2025. This is the last day of carnival festivities. It's also the day on which we eat more "fatty" foods, as from the following day, Ash Wednesday, Christians begin a period of Lent.
