Details:
Oregon-based genre-crossing band Pink Martini are performing at the Rockhal in Esch-Belval on Wednesday 24 April 2024; doors open at 20:00 for an 20:30 start.
Now in their 29th year, Pink Martini have been enchanting audiences worldwide with their unique blend of Latin, big band, classical and Golden Age of Hollywood-inspired tunes.
Founded in 1994 by bandleader and pianist Thomas Lauderdale, Pink Martini began as a beacon of beauty and inclusivity for progressive fundraisers and galas. Their style, a harmonious blend of global influences, quickly caught the attention of music enthusiasts everywhere. The addition of China Forbes, Lauderdale's friend from their Harvard days, as the lead singer, only added to the band’s allure.
Their album, Sympathique, released in 1997, set them on a path to international acclaim. This "little orchestra" has since graced the stages of iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl, singing in over 20 languages and connecting cultures through music.
