From Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 December 2023, the Rotondes in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie will host family-friendly Christmas events.

There will be workshops combining discoveries and surprises on the programme as well as two shows: Reclaim and Ballon Bandit.

Reclaim, a show aimed at everyone aged eight and over, combines new circus and live music. This show aims to reconnect with the discipline of the circus. Accompanied live by a lyrical singer and two cellists, five circus performers brawl in an arena. Their presence on stage will be marked by acrobatics performed in symphony with the singer and musicians. The strange atmosphere which marks the beginning of the show changes when a lyrical song rises, gradually giving way to light and newfound solidarity. Voted “Best Circus Show” in 2023 by the Maeterlinck Prize for Belgian journalistic criticism, Reclaim aims to offer an experience that is both intense and poetic.

Ballon Bandit, for its part, is a physical and musical show which evokes the joy of knowing how to imagine, the pleasure of being able to dance and the vertigo of floating in space. Aimed at an audience aged from two-and-a-half to six years, this performance will immerse spectators in a poetic-pop-rock experience to the timeless rhythms of David Bowie.

In addition to the shows, the Rotondes will offer workshops. Among the highlights of this edition, the public will be able to discover "Wéi kléngt Schnéi?” (what does snow sound like), a child-adult duo theatre workshop, and the culinary workshop “Den Honger kënnt beim Erzielen” (hunger comes while telling stories). The latter will immerse participants in a story with a common objective: making the magic recipe. At the same time, the Let It Glow Lab will allow participants to express their creativity by making candles to add a festive touch to their homes. Once again this year, the Labs have proven to be highly successful, with all slots already filled.

The Rotondes will also offer an outdoor treasure hunt for younger children. It is not complicated, and it offers a few clues to find for a chance to win a special gift from the Rotondes collection.

Creative visitors will also find activities to do, with a winter DIY corner at the platform to create unique works while waiting for the show to begin. All are accompanied by a selection of hot drinks and sweets served by the Buvette.

The 2023 edition of “Chrëschtdeeg” (Christmas Days) aims to create a festive and warm atmosphere with discoveries and surprises to share with family or friends.
