The "Mäertchen" (Octave market) will return to Place de la Constitution (Gëlle Fra) in Luxembourg-Ville from Saturday 29 April to Sunday 14 May 2023.

The Mäertchen traditionally offered pilgrims going to Luxembourg City, to honour the Virgin Mary (patroness of the city and of the Grand Duchy), the possibility of having a small snack while doing their shopping in town right after mass. Today, it takes the form of a popular market with food, game stands and fairground attractions. This year's Mäertchen features a total of 45 stands.

Although the big restaurants will be absent in 2023, several take-outs will have outdoor terraces and serve traditional "gebackene Fësch" (fried fish) and other Mäertchen delicacies.

The stands in Place de la Constitution will be open every day from 11:00 to 22:00.
