The City of Luxembourg has announced that three municipal swimming pools in the capital will reopen from next Tuesday 15 September 2020.

After having been closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Badanstalt (12 Rue des Bains), Luxembourg-Bonnevoie (30 Rue Sigismond) and Luxembourg-Belair (14 Rue d'Ostende) swimming pools will be accessible to the public again from next week.

In order to guarantee the safety of visitors, a series of sanitary and administrative measures will be applied in all swimming pools. As such, the barrier gestures in force in enclosed places will apply, meaning that wearing a mask or any other face covering (for nose and mouth) is mandatory between and including the main entrance and the cloakroom. "Wellness" type infrastructures such as saunas, Turkish baths, whirlpools, fitness rooms as well as showers and collective changing rooms remain closed and indoor group aquatic lessons suspended until further notice. Changing rooms and showers are cleaned and disinfected after each use.

In order to avoid queues and gatherings of people, the swimming pools will only be accessible by prior reservation and according to two-hour time slots from the opening of the pool (e.g. 08:00 - 10:00 or 10:00 - 12:00). Capacity is limited to 20 people per time slot at Badanstalt pool, 32 people at Bonnevoie, including 24 places for the main pool and eight for the small pool, and 30 people at Belair swimming pool, including 20 places for the main pool and ten for the small pool.

Reservations should be made via telephone (reception of the various swimming pools):
- Badanstalt tel.: 4796-2550
- Bonnevoie tel.: 4796-3471
- Belair tel.: 4796-4982

Reservations are limited to the current week; only Monday time slots can be booked from Friday of the previous week. Visitors can only reserve one time slot at a time.
