On Thursday evening, the amphitheatre at D'Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg was the venue for the awards to voluntary sporting organisations around the Grand Duchy.
Luxembourg's Minister for Sport, Romain Schneider, and the Director of Luxembourg's Olympic Committee, Sam Kries, both addressed the members of the 31 sports organisations represented, prior to the presentation of the awards to one nominated representative of each.
The top awards for 2014 were presented to (1) Eliane Polfer of the Luxembourg Athletics Federation, (2) Luciano Fratini of the Luxembourg Paralympics Committee, and (3) Eugène Kraus of the Luxembourg Triathlon Federation.
The evening event contained no less than four musical (jazz) interludes by the three-piece jazz band who performed Canteloupe Island, Afternoon in Paris, Cameleon and A Kind of Jazz.
