On Thursday 19 September 2024, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg) inaugurated six new pop-up stores located in the city centre as well as in the Gare district.

Reggie's Californian Burrito, located at 43 Rue Fort Neipperg, offers dishes with Mexican flavours including a variety of tacos, burritos, bowls and salads, to take away or eat in. Regional ingredients are used (where possible) and the dishes are prepared freshly on-site.

The Ome Store, located at 26 Rue des Capucins, was born from the desire to offer customers handmade candles using a blend of soy wax and beeswax. Natural dyes and cotton wicks "guarantee a clean burn" for these 100% natural candles.

ZDEG'Z, located at 38 Rue Philippe II, is a Parisian concept combining streetwear clothing (trainers, jumpers, T-shirts, etc.) and more formal pieces (shirts, trousers, etc.). The shop offers "unique and original pieces for all occasions", noted the City of Luxembourg.

Sabura Art & Design, located at 43 Grand Rue, is an art gallery exhibiting and selling paintings and sculptures as well as limited edition design objects designed and co-created with female artists from Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. A portion of the proceeds is donated to environmental initiatives.

Spells & Spices - by Gaëlle, located at 3 Rue Jean Origer, offers "captivating products and objects to awaken the senses". Gäelle has created a "friendly" space with creative workshops focusing on well-being, astrology, spirituality, painting and more.

VR Park, located at 64 Avenue de la Liberté, offers advanced virtual reality games in the heart of the capital. The space can host birthday parties, corporate events and activities between family or friends. Mobile phone accessories are also available for sale.

Through the "pop-up stores" project, the City of Luxembourg offers creators, entrepreneurs and startups the opportunity to test their product, service or concept in direct contact with their customers, by providing short-term rental of commercial spaces. The concept is designed to serve as a springboard for tenants who can consolidate their professional experience before launching definitively into commerce. The City of Luxembourg added that pop-up stores contribute to the "creation of a rich commercial offer" and to "attracting a diverse public" to the city centre.

Owners of temporarily unoccupied commercial spaces wishing to join the project can contact the Economic and Commercial Development Unit of the City of Luxembourg via tel.: 4796-5000 (Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00) or via email: dec@vdl.lu.
