The Luxembourg-based alt-rock band Pineway is set to release a new album entitled Echosystem on 19 April 2024.
The official release show will take place on 12 April 2024 at Rockhal from 20:00.
The band’s shared passion for music brought them together in 2016. According to the organisers, in 2016, Andy Kayl (bass) and Ramon Herrig (vocals), two old school friends, took the initiative. They wanted to get back to making music and formed the band “Pineway” together with musicians they found via social networks. Their debut album Shift was released in 2021, followed by the successor Echosystem with eight new tracks to be released in April 2024.
For the five band members, music is first and foremost a passion. And it is reportedly this same passion that is behind the band's name: without music, they would “literally pine away”. Instead, they noted that their music and lyrics help them thrive expressing messages about life and relationships.
“Legacy”, for example, is about loss and coping with grief, “The Truth” is about reflecting on the essence of life, “Hide and Seek” is about the search for happiness and “Mr Loner” is about social isolation. The first single, “The Devil Must Not Know”, is about change and why good intentions are not enough. The second single “Breach” encourages the listeners to be themselves. Their lyrics repeatedly deal with self-searching and being torn between the different poles of the dualistic human nature.
Musically, Pineway's songs are diverse with alternative/indie rock, grungy guitars and metal-like drum and bass meeting indie keys and catchy melodies. Each band member brings their musical taste and style to the table, giving Pineway's music a multidimensional character. The five musicians added they believe it is important to be on the same wavelength, not only when creating music but also as human beings, which resonates in their songs.
Tickets for the release show on 12 April 2024 at Rockhal from 20:00 are available via https://rockhal.lu/shows/pineway-release/ from €15,75. “Fallen Lies” will be their support band on the day.
