The National Youth Service (Service national de la jeunesse - SNJ) has announced that the fifteenth edition of the Nuit du Sport (sports night), which took place on Saturday 8 June 2024, attracted more than 20,000 participants in the 45 participating municipalities.
In total, more than 140 sports disciplines, from acroyoga to aqua-fitness, including capoeira, BMX and biathlon were offered by youth centres, associations, sports clubs, relay houses or municipal services, all in an open and festive setting.
The activities offered during the Nuit du Sport, launched and coordinated since 2009 by the National Youth Service and Luxembourg’s Ministry of Sport, aim to propose original, intergenerational and inclusive activities, the organisers added. The participants are able to (re-)discover physical activity and a healthy lifestyle regardless of their social status, nationality, age and physical predisposition and partake in various sports.
The fifteenth edition took place in the following municipalities: Bertrange, Bettembourg and Leudelange, Betzdorf, Bissen, Biwer, Bourscheid, Clervaux, Colmar-Berg, Contern, Differdange, Dudelange, Echternach, Esch-sur-Alzette, Esch-sur-Sûre, Feulen, Fischbach, Frisange, Grevenmacher, Groussbus-Wal, Helperknapp, Hesperange, Junglinster, Kayl, Koerich, Kopstal, Larochette, Luxembourg, Mamer, Manternach, Mersch, Mertzig, Mondercange, Niederanven, Nommern, Pétange, Rambrouch, Roeser, Rumelange, Sandweiler, Schengen, Schuttrange, Stadtbredimus, Steinsel and Wiltz.
