Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has published a review of the week of 17 to 23 April 2023 in relation to acute respiratory infections, namely COVID-19 and influenza (flu).
COVID-19
For the week in question, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 increased to 220 cases compared to 217 cases the previous week. 46.8% of COVID-19 cases were reinfections (compared to 46.1% the week before).
Flu
For the week of 17 to 23 April, the number of flu cases reported by laboratories decreased from 101 to 62 cases, i.e. a drop of 38.6% compared to the previous week. Influenza B remained predominant.
Given the current low incidence of respiratory infections, this will be the last systematic weekly press release, the ministry reported. In the event of a new wave of infections, the health ministry will resume the regular publication of epidemiological data.
