The Service national de la jeunesse (SNJ - National Youth Service) has reported that the 2nd edition of the “BookAthon – Vu Jonker fir Kanner” took place from Monday 28 to Wednesday 30 October 2024 at the Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg-Hollerich.
The event attracted 30 young creatives over a total period of 24 hours, and resulted in ten new children’s books.
Over these three days, ten writers, ten illustrators and ten graphic designers, aged 15 to 29 years, and grouped in teams of three, worked together to create ten trilingual story books (in LU, FR, DE) for children aged 0 to 4 years. Under the supervision of professionals, these 30 young people demonstrated remarkable talent and an impressive ability to work under pressure.
The result is that these ten books will soon be printed and available online at https://bookathon.lu/.
