The members of the Board of Directors of InFiNe, the Luxembourg network for inclusive finance, recently elected Tom Pfeiffer as their new President.

Tom Pfeiffer succeeds Michel Maquil, who had served as President of InFiNe since its creation in 2014.

Tom Pfeiffer, Independent Director and Founder of Triple Line Advisory, took up his new position immediately on 14 October 2022.

Michel Maquil, former Chairman of the Management Committee and CEO of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) from 2001 to 2012, decided to step down after eight years with a positive track record. Under his presidency, InFiNe has been able to find its place in the Luxembourg ecosystem by bringing together very different actors ranging from NGOs specialised in inclusive finance, such as ADA, to key actors in development cooperation, such as LuxDev, but also investment funds, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, which has supported InFiNe since its inception.

Today, the InFiNe network gathers 36 members, key actors from the public, private sectors and the Luxembourg civil society, highlighting the solid competencies and the high level of expertise of this ecosystem fostering the deployment of inclusive finance worldwide.

"I am pleased to see Tom replacing me as InFine’s President. It is an excellent choice by the InFiNe Board of Directors members", said Michel Maquil. "With his career in audit and in the financial industry, often backed by microfinance or inclusive finance projects, and his innate sense of teamwork, Tom has all the skills and competencies needed to continue the development of InFiNe".

Throughout his professional career as an auditor and financial advisor, Tom Pfeiffer has had the opportunity to participate in evaluations and audits of development aid projects or microfinance programmes. Between 2016 and 2019, he served as CSR and sustainability leader at Deloitte Luxembourg. Continuing the work of Michel Maquil, Tom Pfeiffer is keen to bring a new revival to the InFine network, continuing to develop and leverage the wide range of expertise characterised by the diversity of its members.

"Becoming Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Inclusive Finance Network Luxembourg Asbl is a real honour, which obliges me. Convinced that financial inclusion is essential to improve the lives of people who still face barriers to accessing finance, I look forward to enhancing the collective knowhow in responsible and inclusive finance in Luxembourg, together with all the members of the Board of Directors. InFiNe is a key player in improving access to finance for low-income groups worldwide", commented Tom Pfeiffer.

The Board of Directors, the entire InFiNe team and the member’s institutions thanked Michel Maquil for his service, constructive contributions and unfailing commitment to inclusive finance.
