Luxembourg-headquartered Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) today announced the appointment of Shukhrat Ibragimov to its Board of Managers with effect from 3 March 2021.
Shukhrat Ibragimov replaces his father, Alijan Ibragimov, one of the founders of ERG who passed away last month, on the Board of Managers.
Mr Ibragimov will also serve as a member of the Board's Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee and the Sustainable Development and M&A Committee.
Prior to his appointment to the Board, Shukrhat Ibragimov served as ERG's Head of Business Development for over six years. He was instrumental in developing and launching some of the Group's most ambitious international projects, including Metalkol RTR, the world's second largest standalone producer of cobalt and a major producer of copper, and BAMIN, ERG's integrated mining and logistics project in Brazil.
Dr Alexander Machkevitch, Chairman of ERG's Board of Managers, commented: "We are very pleased to welcome Shukhrat Ibragimov to the Board. Shukhrat's impressive expertise in mining and extensive knowledge of ERG's business, gained through leading some of our key development initiatives, will be invaluable for the Group's future growth".
Shukhrat Ibragimov stated: "Having spent a number of years working as part of ERG's leadership team, I look forward to building on all my experience and my father's vision for the best benefit of the Group and its diverse range of stakeholders".
