
Following the decision of the current director of Luxembourg's Inspectorate of Finance, Etienne Reuter, to retire, the Governnment Council has decided to appoint Raymond Bausch as the new director, with effect from 1 February 2021.
Raymond Bausch holds a master's degree in pure mathematics and a diploma of advanced studies in mathematics from the University of Nancy I. After starting his career in 1986 with ARBED, he joined the Ministry of National Education in 1994 and was appointed Secretary General of the National Research Fund when it was created in 2000. In 2010, he joined the Insptectorate of Finance (Inspection Générale des Finances - IGF), of which he is currently Deputy Director.
Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance, commented: “I would like to warmly thank Etienne Reuter for his efforts and dedication at the head of the IGF, as well as for his exemplary commitment throughout his career in the service of the state and of our fellow citizens. Raymond Bausch, who has more than ten years of experience at the IGF, is the best qualified person to continue the modernisation work started by Etienne Reuter at the head of this key administration for the functioning of the state".
