On Tuesday 23 August 2023, trade unions in Luxembourg representing Luxair staff have demanded the urgent holding of a Tripartite Aviation monitoring committee "in order to improve the working conditions".
Faced with what the LCGB, OGBL and NGL trade unions called "the inaction of the general management regarding the excessive workload of Luxair staff", the trade unions have called for the meeting.
Following the resumption of activity, sometimes reaching levels even higher than in 2019, the demand on Luxair staff has become extremely high, the unions added in their statement.
The unions intervened in July 2022 with the general management of Luxair in order to meet at short notice in order to find solutions to the various work organisation problems which they claimed had an adverse impact on working conditions.
Today, the three trade unions have "noted with regret" what they describe as the insufficient reaction of the general management of the company. As a result, they have requested the Minister of Mobility and Public Works to urgently call a meeting of the tripartite aviation monitoring committee whey have called up on to analyse the current situation and draw the necessary conclusions and decisions
