On Wednesday 9 February 2022, the LCGB and OGBL trade unions as well as the FCF federation of private training centres (Fédération des centres de formations privés) signed an amendment to the sectoral job retention plan for private training centres in Luxembourg.
This amendment extends the terms of the sectoral job retention plan for an additional four months, i.e. from 1 March to 30 June 2022.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the trade unions noted that the sector, which is still heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions, is in "a fragile situation with no concrete prospect for an immediate relaunch of face-to-face training".
Consequently, the unions and the FCF have negotiated an amended sectoral job retention plan in order to avoid layoffs and closures of establishments by the following means:
- voluntary part-time work;
- partial unemployment, adapted to the sector;
- early retirement-adjustment;
- the temporary loan of labour;
- continuing professional training, internally or externally, or leading to a qualification recognised by the State.
A monitoring committee will be responsible for periodically monitoring the progress of the measures taken within the framework of this sectoral job retention plan.
