Applications are now open for the CISO and DPO of the Year 2024 awards, as part of Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg (CSWL) this October.
Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg is a national campaign coordinated by the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity, encompassing all events by the Cybersecurity Luxembourg ecosystem members. The organisers noted that the objective of this campaign is to achieve and widen cybersecurity awareness as well as to foster collaboration.
The organisers announced that applications for the CISO and DPO of the Year 2024 awards are now open. Both awards are intended as a career booster. Winners will: become the ambassador of the community for the coming year; be invited to several events to represent the Luxembourg ecosystem; remain within the CISO/DPO of the Year-awarded family as they become the next Vice-President of the jury one year following the nomination, and respectively President of the jury on the second year after their nomination.
To apply, fill in the linked forms for the CISO and DPO of the Year awards and add your most recent CV, all before Monday 30 September 2024.
The jury will then select the participants for the next stage. Next is an interview between the participants and the jury (presence mandatory) on Monday 14 October 2024 for DPO of the Year and on Tuesday 15 October 2024 for CISO of the Year. The winner will be announced at the Gala & Awards Night on Thursday 24 October 2024.
The awards are not only intended for candidates having the CISO (chief information security officer) or DPO (data protection officer) function, but for any other information security lead with a similar role as a CISO or any other data protection and privacy responsible within an organisation of whatever size with a similar role as a DPO.
The organisers also announced details for Hack.lu. This CSWL core event (together with the CTI summit) is an open convention/conference where people can discuss computer security, privacy, information technology and its cultural and/or technical implication on society. The eighteenth edition of hack.lu is taking place at Parc Hotel Alvisse in Luxembourg-Dommeldange from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 October 2024. The agenda is now available online at https://hack.lu/agenda/.
