The Union Luxembourgeoise de Patinage de Vitesse (ULPV) has reported that a Luxembourg skater competed in the International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup 6 in Gdansk, while another local skater is set to race in the ISU World Junior Short Track Championships, taking place in Gdansk from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 February 2024.
Last weekend, Luxembourg skater Peter Murphy competed in the ISU World Cup 6 in Gdansk, which was also the last CUP for this year. Peter participated in the 1500m event, advancing to the repechage quarterfinals and securing the 30th position with the 24th fastest time. In the 1000m race, he finished 42nd overall, posting the 33rd fastest time. The top skaters of the 2023/2024 season, Gilli Kim for women and Ji Won Park for men, received the Crystal Globe trophy.
This upcoming weekend, Luxembourg skater Jimmy Kiesgen will race in the ISU World Junior Short Track Championships, also in Gdansk. The ULPV wished him good luck in the first World Championship he qualified for.
