On Monday 1 July 2024, Klima-Agence announced the launch of the call for projects and concepts for this year's "Energy Elegance Prize" (Prix Élégance énergétique).
The Energy Elegance Prize, organised by Klima-Agence in collaboration with the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (OAI), aims to reward the aesthetic integration of energy transition technologies.
According to the organisers, the prize stands out for its objective of demonstrating that it is possible to integrate new technologies into the architectural landscape in a harmonious and functional manner. The evaluation criteria emphasise aesthetics, highlighting the importance of harmony between functionality and design.
The Energy Elegance Prize is open to project owners, builders, designers or implementers, both private and public, with a project located in the Grand Duchy, whether already completed or in the process of planning/construction.
Participants can submit multiple projects, based on eligible categories and technologies. The projects submitted must integrate photovoltaic installations, solar panels, heat pumps, charging stations for electric vehicles or ventilation systems in a way that enhances the architectural quality visible from the outside.
The jury is made up of representatives from Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity and the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning, OAI, the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts, the Federation of Artisans, the Real Estate Chamber and Klima-Agence.
