Last week marked the inauguration of a new photovoltaic system installed at Voyages Vandivinit in partnership with Enovos.

In 2020, the INDR awarded Voyages Vandivinit, a family business operating on the Moselle for three generations, its ESR (entreprise socialement respnsable, or CSR in English) label. The company, which now employs more than 200 people, has developed a strategy in relation to sustainable development and responsible and social business management. The aim is to complete and extend the its offering while remaining economically stable by continuing to provide its employees with work and to maintain the loyalty of its internal and external stakeholders.

In 2015, Luxembourg ratified the United Nations Agenda 2030, like 192 other states in the world. It committed in this agreement to take into account and implement in all of its policy the seventeen sustainable development goals (SDGs) set by this international agenda. With this in mind, the Voyages Vandivinit group has set itself certain objectives to prepare for a transition to sustainable growth while respecting the protection of natural resources. These objectives include promoting clean and affordable energy, as well as industry, innovation and infrastructure.

For the managers of Voyages Vandivinit, “the development of renewable energies has become essential”.

In this context, Voyages Vandivinit and representatives of Enovos inaugurated their common photovoltaic installation last week. The installation covers an area of 6,077 m² and has 3,336 panels. The solar panels develop a power of 1,234.32kWp, making it possible to avoid the release of around 536 tonnes of CO2 annually.

"We are proud to work together with Voyages Vandivinit on the realisation of this photovoltaic project to create a sustainable future. Enovos is leveraging its growing expertise to develop and build large green energy production plants. Each kWh produced brings us towards climate neutrality. All this is achieved thanks to the confidence of our partners and the excellent collaborations put in place over the past few years”, commented Anouk Hilger, Head of Renewable Energy at Enovos.

Georges Reding from Luxembourg's Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning added: "We must unite our strengths, our potential and our skills to position Luxembourg as a strong player in the energy transition".
