Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture and the National Sites and Monuments Service have launched a call for projects to form part of the European Heritage Days 2021, which will take place from 24 September to 3 October.

The European Heritage Days take place annually at the end of September throughout Europe with the main objective of arousing interest in cultural heritage and showcasing the cultural richness and diversity of Europe.

This year, the Days are placed under the theme "Heritage for all", thus celebrating inclusive and diverse heritage. The objective is therefore to partially remove the physical, cultural or social obstacles which may prevent members of the public from fully asserting their right to cultural participation.

Various activities and initiatives could be envisaged, such as discoveries and guided tours of buildings or historic sites, as well as museum collections, workshops, conferences, demonstrations or initiations to heritage professions, projects relating to new technologies, concerts or any other heritage-related event.

Any institutions, associations or organisations with a cultural vocation, as well as municipalities and individuals, are invited to participate in the European Heritage Days 2021. Interested parties should submit their project by 11 June 2021 on the European Heritage Days website or via email: journeespatrimoine@ssmn.public.lu.

Selected projects will benefit from increased visibility and promotion through publication in a printed programme and on the website. Communication materials and the European Heritage Days logo will also be made available. Under certain conditions, a subsidy can be requested from the Ministry of Culture; for further details, visit mc.gouvernement.lu/fr/Domaines/aides-projets-culturel.html.

Further information, including the full call for projects, is available on the European Heritage Days website.
