Mouvement Ecologique (move.) asbl, a Luxembourg non-profit, youth activism organisation, has announced the launch of an online guide composed of a collection of addresses with a particular focus on sustainability.

"Moveapproved.lu - The Guide to Change" is a new digital edition of the alternative city map for young people edited by move. three years ago. The objectives of this new guidebook remains the same, thus focusing mainly on highlighting addresses that stand out in terms of sustainability (both ecologically and socially speaking), in the view of young people.

A selection of short articles, site pictures and website links will provide all the useful information that is requested.

This new edition proposes five revisited categories instead of the previous three (Shop gutt, Buff gutt, Chill gutt), thus allowing the guide to cover a much larger area: Food&Drink, Activism, Culture, Free Time and Fashion. The latter now includes a strong partner, Fashion Revolution Luxembourg, which brings a lot of experience to the project.

To implement the project, move. followed strict guidelines which they adopted for all five categories; in the interest of transparency, these guidelines can be viewed on the website. The organisation also noted that the guide does not claim to select “100% perfect” addresses that wholly correspond to the ideal image of ecological and social criteria. Rather, the aim is to highlight addresses where significant efforts are being undertaken for the sake of sustainability, in order to make a difference.

The guide allows any interested person to discover a total of 30 addresses located in Luxembourg city centre. Regular updates, each time focusing on a specific locality / region or topic are also planned. When releasing updates, move. will concentrate on subjects that are currently on their radar. As such, there are already concrete plans to issue a publication dedicated to the theme of solidarity agriculture in Luxembourg.

Moreover, external feedback is vital in order to develop the website in the long term. Anyone interested in submitting an address which they think meets the criteria is invited to send an email to move@meco.lu.

The “moveapproved” project continues chiefly to be a project by young people for young people, with the bilingual edition (Luxembourgish and English) making it accessible to a wider audience.
