Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, reported that the Intercultural Living Together Committee of the Municipality of Heffingen handed over a donation of €4,182.54.

According to the NGO, this amount comes from the proceeds of the “Living Together” event held on 21 September 2025, in which eleven countries participated, as well as donations collected during the 1 May march organised by the “Culture” and “Environment” commissions. The donation was presented to the organisation’s Director, Alexandra Oxacelay, during ceremony in the sports hall of Heffingen.

The donation ceremony took place in the presence of Jérôme Seiler, Mayor of Heffingen, representatives of the three municipal commissions and participants of the “Living Together” celebration.

According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, the donation will be used to support the organisation’s traditional Christmas celebration, which is expected to welcome more than 600 guests on Thursday 18 December 2025. Gifts for children and adults will be distributed, a DJ will provide musical entertainment, and a photo series by Belgian artist Jef Van den Bossche, titled Luxemburden, will be 

Stëmm vun der Strooss noted that “with winter approaching, this contribution is of particular importance”, as the demand for assistance increases sharply once temperatures fall. The NGO added that its teams “mobilise daily” to support people experiencing severe hardship, many of whom lack warm clothing, shoes, blankets and other items suitable for winter conditions.

The organisation noted that it is currently seeking donations of clothing for men, women and children, as well as suitcases, sports bags, backpacks, bed linen, duvets, sheets, shoes and hygiene products.

Donations can be dropped off without an appointment from Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 16:30 at the following addresses:
