On Saturday 22 March and Sunday 23 March 2025, the 20th edition of Relais pour la Vie (Relay for Life), a fundraising event organised by Fondation Cancer, will take place at the Coque sports centre in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

Team members at the Coque (24 to 48 members per team) will take turns running or walking over a 24-hour period, from 19:00 Saturday until 19:00 Sunday.

"Relais pour la Vie is an act of solidarity that transcends distances and unites people around a common cause. This 20th edition will be an opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to those affected by cancer, as well as to raise essential funds to support research, prevent cancer, and assist patients throughout their journey," said Margot Heirendt, Director of Fondation Cancer.

According to the Fondation Cancer, more than 13,000 participants have already registered for the 2025 Relais pour la Vie. A total of 191 virtual teams and 323 in-person teams will take turns over 24 hours to carry forward this collective show of solidarity. In the opening moments of the event, more than 300 Survivors & Caregivers will also take part in the Survivor & Caregiver Tour.

The 2025 Relais pour la Vie will begin with the opening ceremony, “an emotional and hopeful moment where patients and their loved ones will share their testimonies”. The Survivor & Caregiver Tour will follow, with participants walking to the applause and encouragement of the audience. “The official Relais pour la Vie will then commence, with teams taking turns continuously for 24 hours in a symbolic act of solidarity. On Sunday, the Candlelight Ceremony will provide a moment of reflection and remembrance, paying tribute to those affected by cancer,” said Fondation Cancer in the press release.

A variety of activities will take place over the weekend for both participants and visitors: Entertainment Village under the Arcades, featuring a photobooth, interactive quizzes and thematic stands; Children’s Area on Sunday, offering creative workshops, face painting and the PetziKlinik; Prevention and Screening Area, where visitors can learn about existing cancer prevention and screening programmes in Luxembourg.
