Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports homeless people and vulnerable members of Luxembourg society, has announced the renewal of its social rental management agreement in partnership with Luxembourg's Ministry of Housing.

On Wednesday 18 May 2022, Stëmm vun der Strooss, represented by Annick Blasiard, acting for Benoit Klensch who is in charge of the Immo-Stëmm (real estate) department, renewed its cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Housing. The aim of this partnership is for the contractor to rent vacant flats from private owners and then make them available to people in difficulty, at rents lower than those on the private market.

As a contractual partner, Stëmm vun der Strooss guarantees landlords that the rent will be paid each month and ensures that each resident leaves his / her accommodation in a correct condition. This agreement with the Ministry of Housing has served to further strengthen the Immo-Stëmm department of Stëmm vun der Strooss.

Explaining how Immo-Stëmm works, Benoit Klensch said: "The purpose of this service is to make the real estate market accessible to people with a modest income and to act as a middle person between owners and tenants. In 2021, 31 people could be accommodated in 26 flats or studios. We at Stëmm vun der Strooss are committed to guiding and supporting lodgers on every step of the way". Of these 26 units, seven came as a result of the partnership with the Ministry of Housing.
