The KPMG Luxembourg Foundation, a non-profit organisation that raises money for charities in climate action, education and other areas, celebrated its 10th anniversary on Wednesday.
Since its inauguration in 2009, the Foundation has raised €2.5 million in donations for charities both in Luxembourg and abroad, including €300,000 so far in 2019.
Anne-Sophie Minaldo, Partner at KPMG Luxembourg and Director of the Foundation’s Board, commented on this accomplishment: “Ten years is an important milestone, and we are immensely proud of it. As issues like global warming continue to threaten our world, we feel that it’s our responsibility to consolidate our efforts in doing what we can to help". She added: "In addition to raising funds, we aim to connect KPMG Luxembourg employees to the local and wider communities through volunteering and skills-sharing projects. The success of the Foundation, as we celebrate its first decade, is proof of the goodwill and tenacity of our donors and volunteers—and we are keenly anticipating ten more years of hard work and fundraising”.
The fifteen NGOs to receive funding from the Foundation next year are Alupse, Centre Saint-Aubain, Natur&Emwelt fondation hellef fir d'natur, Stemm Vun Der Stroos, Youth and Work, Padem, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg, CSI Lëtzebuerg, LP4Y, CARE, 2Care2Share, Chrétiens pour le Sahel (CMS), Cameleon Association Luxembourg, Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde and Iles de Paix.
The Foundation’s mission is to support the UN’s sustainable development goals, with a particular focus on investing in people. It is a separate entity to the KPMG Audit, Tax and Advisory practices in Luxembourg. However, KPMG Luxembourg has committed to donating a fixed percentage of its turnover annually to the organisation.
