On Wednesday 1 October 2025, the Fondation Alphonse Weicker and BGL BNP Paribas, in partnership with the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (INDR) and the Luxembourg Business Federation (UEL), held the 2025 Sustainable Economic Progress Awards ceremony.

The ceremony, which took place in the presence of Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, and Minister for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, Serge Wilmes, recognised the exemplary initiatives developed by Luxembourgish companies in favour of sustainable development.

The ceremony featured a speech by guest speaker Charlène Descollonges, who talked of her expertise as a hydrological engineer and fostered discussions on water preservation and regeneration.

After deliberation, the jury, composed of members appointed by the Fondation Alphonse Weicker and the INDR, chose to reward the following labelled companies:

  • Fondation Alphonse Weicker Award: Vinçotte an SME recognised for its ambitious sustainable mobility policy. This prize carries an award of €10,000.

The jury said: “Through its ÉcoMobilité initiative, Vinçotte Luxembourg implements a comprehensive 360° sustainable mobility policy, reducing the environmental footprint of inspection travel through fleet electrification. With adapted infrastructure and concrete incentive measures, Vinçotte also encourages all its employees to adopt sustainable modes of transport – cycling, walking, carpooling or public transport.”

  • BGL BNP Paribas Award: Bollig Tours, a company specialising in organising sustainable travel. This prize carries an award of €2,500.

The jury said: “Bollig Tours’ approach combines collective mobility, reduced printing, carbon offsetting and support for local communities – demonstrating that responsible tourism is achievable even for small, seriously committed companies.”

The jury added: “These projects perfectly illustrate that SMEs can also deploy ambitious, structured and genuinely committed CSR strategies, resulting in actions and projects that have a real impact both environmentally and economically.”
