The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Wednesday 11 March 2026, officers conducted a traffic check in Moutfort, which focused on the use of mobile phones while driving.
According to the police, the traffic check took place on Route de Remich in Moutfort between the hours of 16:30 and 18:00.
During the operation, 20 drivers were issued fines for using their mobile phones whilst driving (£250 and 4 penalty points). In addition, two drivers did not possess a valid insurance certificate and one passenger was found to be not wearing a seatbelt.
Additionally, defects were found in the lighting of four vehicles, in two cases the road tax vignette had expired, one vehicle had an expired technical inspection certificate and one driver was unable to present a driving licence.
