On the evening of Friday 6 March 2026, the Grand Duke Henri Police Centre at Luxembourg Airport was illuminated in blue to commemorate the International Day of Remembrance for Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty.
The commemoration, observed by police forces worldwide, officially takes place on Saturday 7 March. Established by INTERPOL in 2019, INTERPOL member law enforcement agencies have been invited by the international law-enforcement organisation to illuminate certain police buildings, headquarters, ministries or memorial sites in blue to “convey a powerful and visible symbol”.
In this context, the Grand Duke Henri Police Centre building will be partially illuminated in blue from sunset on Friday 6 March until sunset on Saturday 7 March.
The Grand Ducal Police said this collective illumination served both as a tribute to police officers who have fallen in the line of duty and as a joint statement from the global police community, affirming remembrance, solidarity and service beyond borders.
